Before You Begin Bikini Shaving
Before you begin your bikini shaving, always moisturize your skin and hair.
Take a shower first or better yet, try shaving in the shower if you can. The steam will open the pores and relax the skin. Wet hairs and relaxed skin are much easier to shave, which reduces wear on your skin and the blade. Allow your skin to be wet for five to ten minutes.
You can apply a regular hair conditioner to soften the hairs before bikini shaving if you like. Just be sure to thoroughly rinse it off because the chemicals and perfumes contained in most hair conditioners will irritate your skin even as you’re shaving.
Then apply whatever lubricant you prefer to further soften the hair, lock in moisture, help keep the hair erect, reduce friction and condition the skin.
When Bikini Shaving Use a Chemical and Perfume Free Lubricant
It’s especially important when bikini shaving to make sure this lubricant doesn’t contain chemicals or perfumes to irritate the skin and helps the razor glide easily across the skin.
Once your skin and hair are fully moisturized, gently pull the skin taut with one hand and draw the razor across your skin with the other in short strokes.
Make sure there’s always plenty of lubricants as you’re bikini shaving. And don’t shave over the same area repeatedly.
After you’re finished your shave, rinse thoroughly with warm water. Then, splash cold water on the area to help close the pores and calm and tone the skin.
Pat, don’t rub, the area dry after you shave.

Be Careful Shaving Near Bikini Lines
Bikini lines are areas that naturally hold a good deal of moisture and experience constant friction, so ingrown hairs can become a major problem after bikini shaving. A light dusting of talc-free powder and wearing loose-fitting clothing right after you shave will help to deter inflammations.
These strategies are based on generations of people’s experiences bikini shaving with a wet razor, so if you follow them, you should receive the most satisfactory results.
